Description
UC Blue Lightning Acan Bowerbanki
Electric Color. Massive Presence. The UC Blue Lightning Acan Bowerbanki is a rare powerhouse of color. This collector-grade LPS coral features oversized, fleshy polyps with glowing neon-lime centers, surrounded by a striking, "lightning-streaked" deep purple and royal blue rim. Unlike standard Acans, the Bowerbanki grows in a dense, massive structure, making it a bold architectural piece for your lower rockwork.
-
Type: LPS (Large Polyp Stony)
-
Appearance: High-Contrast Neon Green & Electric Purple
-
Growth Form: Massive/Platy
Care Requirements
Acanthastrea bowerbanki is relatively hardy, but it prefers "fat and happy" conditions with plenty of nutrients.
π‘ Lighting (Low to Moderate)
-
PAR: 75β150.
-
Bowerbankis do best in the lower half of the aquarium. Too much light can cause the colors to wash out or the tissue to shrink. Under heavy blue/actinic lighting, the "Lightning" streaks and neon centers will truly pop.
π Water Flow (Low to Medium)
-
Provide gentle, indirect flow. You want to see the fleshy polyps swaying slightly. Avoid high, direct flow, as this can cause the skeleton to tear through the coral's thick tissue.
π½οΈ Feeding (Highly Recommended)
-
These are hungry corals! For the best health and fastest growth, target feed 1β2 times a week. They love mysis shrimp, chopped seafood, or high-quality LPS pellets. Feeding during the day is easy as they often keep their "mouths" ready if they smell food in the water.
π Placement
-
Bottom to Middle. Best placed on a low rock ledge or secured to the sandbed.
-
Space: They have a moderate sting. While not as aggressive as a Chalice, give them 2β3 inches of space from neighboring corals to allow for full polyp expansion.
Recommended Water Parameters
-
Salinity: 1.024β1.026 sg

Temp: 76Β°Fβ78Β°F
-
Alkalinity: 8β9 dKH
-

-
