Care Requirements:

• Lighting: Low to Medium. Like most Blastomussa, this colony prefers subdued lighting to keep its fleshy polyps fully expanded and its deep red colors vibrant. Too much intense light can cause the coral to bleach or tightly retract.

• Water Flow: Low to Medium. A gentle, indirect breeze is all that is needed. Strong, direct flow will batter the delicate tissue against the coral's hard skeleton and prevent it from opening fully.

• Placement: The sand bed or the lower third of the rockwork is highly recommended. They also adapt very well to slightly shaded areas or overhangs.

• Feeding: While they are photosynthetic, Blastos greatly benefit from regular target feeding. Offer small meaty foods such as Mysis shrimp, Calanus, or high-quality LPS coral pellets 1-2 times a week when the feeding tentacles are extended.
