• Lighting: Low to Moderate. Cyphastrea thrives in lower light areas. Too much intense light can cause the brilliant red base to fade or bleach, making lower rockwork or lower third placement ideal.

• Water Flow: Medium. Moderate, indirect flow keeps the polyps clear of detritus and encourages active expansion without blasting the tissue.

• Placement: Bottom to Middle. Give it a flat or sloped rock surface, or place it against the back wall/overflow where you want it to encrust and spread.

• Temperament: Peaceful to Semi-aggressive. While it doesn't have long sweeper tentacles, it will aggressively encrust and grow over neighboring corals or rockwork, so give it room to expand.

• Diet & Feeding: Photosynthetic, but it highly benefits from regular target feeding. It readily captures micro-plankton, powdered coral foods, and specialized liquid reef diets, which will significantly increase its growth rate and polyp extension.
