UC Gilded Phoenix Blasto Colony

Care Requirements:

• Lighting: Low to Medium. Blastomussa prefer lower lighting to keep their fleshy polyps fully expanded and brightly colored. Too much light can cause them to bleach or retract.

• Water Flow: Low to Medium. A gentle, indirect breeze is perfect. Too much flow will batter the delicate tissue against its skeleton and prevent the polyps from fully opening.

• Placement: The lower third of the aquascape, in shaded or partially shaded areas, or directly on the sand bed.

• Feeding: While they get nutrition from their zooxanthellae, they thrive and grow much faster when target fed. Feed small meaty foods like Mysis shrimp, Calanus, or specialized LPS coral powders/pellets 1-2 times a week.
